11 political parties condemn polls shift

Abuja - A group of 11 political parties has joined in the condemnation of last Saturday’s postponement of the 2015 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reports Premium Times

The parties under the aegis of Coalition of Progressive Political Parties (COP) said they were deeply disappointed by the decision of the commission to postpone the elections.

At a press conference, in Abuja, the parties expressed disappointment with the decision by INEC to reschedule the general elections by six weeks.

The parties are the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM); African Peoples Alliance (APA); Kowa Party; Social Democratic Party (SDP); African Democratic Congress (ADC); Hope Democratic Party (HDP).

Others are Democratic Peoples Party (DPP); United Progressives Party ( UPP); Accord Party (AP), Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN): and Independent Democrat (ID).
