500 PVCs found at home of PDP chieftain

2015-02-19 14:30

Abuja - Approximately 500 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been discovered at the home of a People's Democratic Party (PDP)'s chieftain.

The incident took place after the chieftain allegedly attempted to withdraw funds at a new generation bank using an ATM card that did not belong to him.

According to a Naij report, the man was handed over to police before being transported to his home so that officials could search the residence. Once there, officials discovered 500 PVCs found in the man's room.

The chieftain confessed that the PVCs allegedly belong to a House of Representatives candidate from Edo Central.

Despite the APC in the state requesting that the suspect be transported immediately to the Police Command in Benin City, some PDP member insisted that the man be let free.

The incident comes amid allegations made by APC Chief Francis Inegbeneki, alleging that the PDP have been buying PVCs from elderly people.
