2015-05-08 21:31

Lagos - The All Progressives Congress (APC) Diaspora International Secretariat has welcomed the composition of the Transition Planning Committee ahead of the new administration taking over power later this month.

Ambassador Ahmed Joda chairs the committee with Doyin Salami his Vice while Adamu Adamu is the Secretary.

Others members are Wale Edun, Bola Adesola, Dr Festus Odumegu, Nike Aboderin, John Oyegun, Rotimi Amaechi, Audu Ogbeh, Boss Mustapha, Hadi Sirika, Dr Ogbonaya Onu, Abubakar Malami,  Lawal Jafar Isa, Mohammed Hayatudeen, Solomon Dalong, Prof. Tam David West and Lai Mohammed.

“The choice, constituent and appointment of the Transition Planning Committee Members is perfect. This signifies the beginning of General Muhammadu Buhari in keeping to his word; assembling ‘technocrats’ to work with them,” Francis John, International Coordinator of the APC Diaspora International Secretariat said from the United States.

He said APC Diaspora wholeheartedly approved the able leadership of the committee.

John hailed the role played by Nigerians in the Diaspora during the election on March 29/30.

“The role of Diaspora Nigerians came to lime light most especially at 2015 polls, for its remarkable and outstanding involvement from start to finish. Aggressively campaigned in a timely manner, consistently mounted national and international pressure, enabled power shift to APC.

Invariably, APC campaigns can be compared to the likes of US President Barak Obama.”

John said the poll outcome was well-received among Nigerians in the Diaspora.

“Amazed Diaspora supporting this change are going home in mass to witness the historic change of baton. They are not only confident at the incoming administrations capabilities but cautions political jugglers and party defectors and the need to review acceptance rules.”

Buhari will be sworn in on May 29.
