Abuja - There are strong indications that the zoning formula proposed by the All Progressives Congress's National Working Committee (NWC) to fill the leadership positions in the National Assembly may be jettisoned by the party's National Executive Committee (NEC), reports New Telegraph.
The party’s NEC, which is the apex decision-making body of the party, is expected to meet on Wednesday to ratify the proposal.
The new thinking in the party is to zone the position of the Senate President to the North East.

The decision to zone the position to the zone may have been informed by the need for the party to carry the North-East along in the scheme of things.
The party’s NWC had earlier zoned the Senate presidency to the North-Central and the Speakership of the House of Representatives to the South-West.
