APC, PDP senators meet over Senate presidency

2015-04-24 17:30

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senate caucus is holding series of meeting with the North East caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a view of forming an alliance over who becomes the Senate President, reports Daily Trust.

The deal if successful would see an APC senator from the North East emerging the new Senate President while Senator Ike Ekweremadu of PDP retains his seat as deputy Senate President.

If the deal works out, either Senators Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe), Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno) or Mohammed Danjuma Goje (APC, Gombe) could become the new Senate President.
