Port Harcourt - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the Governor-elect of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike of planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join its fold, reports Leadership.
The party stated that Wike’s planned defection to APC is to prevent the governorship candidate of the party, Dakuku Peterside from going ahead to challenge Wike’s victory at Election Petition Tribunal.

The APC in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday explained that Wike, as soon as he is received into the APC fold, will woo APC elders and leaders to prevail on Peterside to drop his quest for justice before the tribunal.
The party advised Wike to remain in the PDP as he is not needed in the APC.
