APC candidate wins in Bauchi

Lagos -  The Independent National Electoral Commision(INEC) in Bauchi state has declared, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar the candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) as the winner of the governorship election.

He clinched a total  of 654 934 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidate, Mohammed Awwal Jatau who garnered 282 650 voted.

The winner will replace Mallam Isa Yuguda who is in the PDP.

Declaring Abubakar as the winner, Prof. Faruk said that the APC candidate had satisfied Section 179(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, having garnered highest number of total votes cast, and also secured the minimum number of votes required in each of the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
