APC gives conditions for participating in Taraba election re-run

Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has given the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) some conditions that must be met before the party would participate in Taraba election –re-run, reports Thisday.

The party wants INEC to cancel the governorship election results in the 11 local government areas of  the state affected by the irregularities.

Alternatively, the party said the result of the entire state should be cancelled and a fresh election conducted in the state.

The party is also demanding for the total overhauling of the security and staff of INEC before proceeding with the election re-run.

John Oyegun, the party's National Chairman, who gave the conditions on Thursday, noted that the conditions became imperative following the widespread irregularities in most of the local government areas of the state

The Taraba governorship election re-run is scheduled to hold on April 25.
