APC members defect to PDP in Niger, Kebbi

Minna - Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi and Niger States have dumped the party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reports Thisday.

While 2 000 members dumped the party for the PDP in Niger, 2 750 members joined the PDP in Kebbi .

Speaking on behalf of the defectors in Niger on Monday, Abdullahi Suleiman, who was a three-time Suleja Council chairman, ‎said they had to leave the APC because the party had no direction.

He said they were made to swear by the Qur'an to abide by rules and directives of the party.

Maikano Koko, spokesperson for the defectors in kebbi, said they decided to join the PDP following the numerous development projects sited in the area by the current administration.
