Abuja - Chief Reagan Ufomba, a factional governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State has denied allegations that he has stepped down for Alex Otti, who is the party's recognized candidate, PUNCH reports.

Ufomba, who spoke out on the topic during a political rally at Uturu, said that he was the authentic candidate for the party and that he would not be stepping down for any possible reason.

Ufomba has alleged that Otti has not resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from which he defected, and he therefore cannot be recognized as a legitimate member of APGA.

Also during the rally, Ufomba received defected members from the Otti camp, who pledged their support for the man, saying that he has a sound programme from which to work.

Ufomba has pleaded with his supporters to dismiss the rumors as false and to vote for APGA in numbers during the upcoming elections.
