Ajimobi's wife urges women in Oyo state to vote for her husband

2015-04-08 09:29

Ibadan - The Wife of  Oyo State governor, Florence Ajimobi, has appealed to women in the state to vote for her husband and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election.

She made the call on Tuesday in Ibadan while addressing women at a rally tagged "Oyo State Women Walk for Ajimobi".

She said that it was necessary to vote for ‎her husband Abiola Ajimobi because the APC was now at the helm of affairs in the country.

She added that the Ajimobi-led government had done well in the last four years and deserved another term to complement the good work.

"Now that the APC is at the federal level, we will benefit better if you vote for the right candidate and the right party," she said.

‎The Oyo first lady commended the women for coming out en masse to vote during the presidential election and national assembly polls, adding that women would no longer be relegated in politics.

"I urge you all to replicate the same gesture during the governorship election by pledging your loyalty to the APC," she said. ‎

The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Monsurat Sumonu and the Wife of the deputy governor, Janet Adeyemo, were among dignitaries who attended the rally.
