Abuja - One of the leading contenders for the office of the Senate President, George Akume has intensified his consultations by meeting with leading members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in his bid to win their support, reports Vanguard.
Akume over the weekend met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Akume, who is currently the Minority Leader of the Senate also met with the National leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu, former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Kogi State governor, Abubakar Audu.
Akume, who has adopted a quiet, discreet and unobtrusive approach in his quest for the seat had talks with leaders and solicited for their support.
