Lagos - One of the top contenders for the Senate presidency, Senator George Akume on Wednesday met with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, reports Punch.
The meeting, which took place at Tinubu’s Lagos home, was called to iron out the grey areas concerning the Senate presidency.
Tinubu during the meeting told Akume to shelve his ambition and support Senator Ahmed Lawan.

Tinubu, who was initially supporting Akume for the seat, told him that Lawan has the support of all the senators from the North-East and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Tinubu advised Akume to go for the Deputy Senate presidency or Senate Majority Leader.
