Port Harcourt - Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of bribing some Christian religious leaders with N6 billion to campaign against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and it’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, reports Punch.
Amaechi, who is also the Director-General of Buhari Presidential Campaign Organization, stated that the compromised religious leaders have been circulating documents to Nigerians alleging that APC and Buhari will islamize the entire country if elected into power.
Amaechi, who spoke during the APC governorship campaign rally at Emohua, headquarters of Emohua local government area of Rivers State, urged the pastors to return the money, saying Nigerians were too enlightened for an individual or a political party to islamize the whole country.Also read: Amaechi, Lamido in secret meeting
He maintained that the 2015 general elections in the state would be a referendum between him and President Goodluck Jonathan
He challenged President Jonathan to show the Rivers people what he had done for them just like he has done.
