Port Harcourt - Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has expressed shock over the defection of his deputy, Tele Ikuru, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reports Premium Times.
Amaechi noted that the reasons adduced by Ikuru for dumping the APC were shocking to him.

Speaking through his Commissioner for Information and Communication, Ibim Semenitari on Sunday, Amaechi said Ikuru has been the second in command driving politics and governance in the state.
The governor stated that he has accorded Ikuru all the privileges and respect due the office of the Deputy Governor and has treated him with love as a friend and brother.
He, however, wished Ikuru the best in his future political endeavours.
