Amosun declared winner in Ogun

Abeokuta - The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared All Progressives Congress candidate Ibikunle Amosun as the winner of Ogun state governorship election.

INEC’s returning officer in Ogun State Prof Duro Oni made the declaration at mid-day on Sunday, April 12.

According to the results of the governorship election in the state, Amosun garnered 306 988 votes to defeat close rival Gbenga Nasiru Isiaka of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 201 440 votes.

The election outcome means Amosun, who is the seating governor, will be returning for a second term.
