Borno INEC is ready for polls: REC

Abuja - Samuel Madaki Usman, Residential Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Borno State chapter of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced that the State is ready to host the Presidential and National Assembly elections today.

Speaking at a press briefing at the INEC offices in Maiduguri, Madaki revealed that all sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been distributed throughout the state, Vanguard reports.

In addition, the REC has named Maiduguri, Jere, Magumeri, Bayo, Kwayakusar, Shani, Damboa and Chibok LGAs as safer areas to conduct the polls, while the other 16 LGAs that have been classified as volatile are to conduct their elections at various IDP camps in Maiduguri.
