Abuja - Borno State Commissioner of Police, Clement Adoda, warned politicians to desist from statements that could promote violence ahead of next month's general elections.
He gave the warning on Wednesday in Maiduguri, the state capital, during a meeting with political party officials.
"We call this meeting to rob mind with leadership of political parties in the state on certain issues concerning the 2015 elections. This is because election is a process and not an accident," said the police leader.

Political tensions as well as terror have characterized the run-up to the eagerly-anticipated polls.
Analysts forecast the election to be one of the most fiercely-contested since the advent of democracy 16 years ago.
The ruling People's Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress are tipped to dominate.
