Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday failed to show up at a scheduled meeting between leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and members of the National Assembly elected on the party’s platform, reports Channels TV.

The meeting was called to broker peace among the factions in the leadership tussle of the 8th National Assembly.

The party leaders and some elected federal lawmakers were at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, waiting for Buhari, when news filtered in that the Senate had been inaugurated and that Saraki has been elected unopposed.

The members-elect, who had waited for about two hours, stormed out of the venue for the National Assembly complex.

Present at the venue of meeting were some APC governors, former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu and some chieftains of the party.
