Buhari accused of planning to abet corruption

Abuja - A group functioning under the name Move On Nigeria has accused APC presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari of planning to shield party financiers allegedly accused of corruption if elected in the upcoming elections, Sun News reports.

The accusation allegedly follows a declaration made by Buhari stating that he will not probe any corruption cases that predate May 2015, should he be elected.

In a statement signed by the group's National Coordinator Clem Aguiyi, the group described Buhari as an intriguing character with a "deeply conflicted personality".

The group has lamented corruption in the country and said that no president has the right to probe previous regimes or choose which jobs are suitable for the head of state to pursue.
