Maiduguri - The Borno chapter of Grassroots Mobilisers for Buhari, has called on the electorate in the state to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the April 11 Governorship/House of Assembly polls.
Malam Abba Alkali, the state coordinator of the group, made the call in a statement he issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Maiduguri.
He urged the electorate to exercise patience at the polling units and ensure they cast their votes for APC candidates.
"We wish to commend the efforts of the electorate in Borno including women and youths for coming out en masse to vote for General Muhammadu Buhari and APC candidates during the Presidential/ National Assembly polls.
"We wish to appeal to them to extend the same gesture to all APC candidates in next Saturday’s polls," he said.
Alkali said that APC candidates in the March 28 polls would have received higher votes if all eligible voters in the state had voted during the elections.

"We observed that the number of vote cast in most polling units in Borno was lower than the number of accredited voters.
"This is largely due to the fact that many voters failed to turn up to cast their votes after being accredited at the polling units," he said.
The coordinator commended Governor Kashim Shettima for his efforts in ensuring that the APC emerged victorious at the polls.
"We wish to thank Shettima for his moral and financial support for the grassroots mobilisation towards the victory of the APC.
"We also wish to thank Alhaji Mustapha Kwality, the North-East Coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organisation, for his support which helped in mobilising support for the election of Buhari," Alkali said.
He congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari for his victory at the polls saying it was a sign of good omen for the country.
