Buhari pledges to revamp agric, power sectors

2015-01-08 22:32

Yenagoa - The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammed Buhari (Rtd), on Thursday in Yenagoa pledged to revamp the agricultural and power sectors, if elected.

Buhari made the pledge at a campaign rally.

He was accompanied by Chief John Oyegun, the National Chairman of APC; Chief Timiprie Sylva, a former Governor of Bayelsa; Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers and other chieftains of APC.

Buhari noted that Bayelsa was blessed with suitable climate and fertile land for large scale agriculture which could be harnessed to drive economic development.

He said that power was critical to unlock the potential of Nigerian entrepreneurs and would be a cardinal part of his economic programme.

Earlier, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi expressed satisfaction at the turnout of loyalists of the party at the rally, and expressed optimism that the party would be victorious in the elections.

Amaechi urged the people to protect their votes by voting for candidates that would improve their well being.
He said that APC would develop Bayelsa.

The Chairman of APC in Bayelsa, Chief Timipa Orunimighe, said that the successful hosting of presidential rally would result in positive changes in the state.
