Speaking at a press conference, Buhari lamented the EFCC's failure to record a conviction in comparison to it's past record, where former officials were prosecuted for defrauding the Nigerian people.

Speaking through a spokesperson, Garba Shehu, He said "We can safely say that President Jonathan has muzzled the EFCC. He has turned one of our country's most respected and revered institutions into a toothless bulldog without even as much of a bark".

Mr Shehu conveyed his concern at the sacking of the chairman of the SURE-P scheme by President Jonathan under the guise of a desire for change.

President Jonathan sacked Martin Agwai as the chairman allegedly after he attended the birthday celebration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
