According to reports, the APC has warned against an orchestrated campaign against its presidential candidate, to ensure an opposed victory for President Jonathan, or even a postponement to the elections.

The APC's National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed warned at a press conference that this decision would cause great chaos throughout the country.

He also added that the first delay in the elections could have been instigated to give the Jonathan administration time to unseat Buhari as the APC's presidential candidate.
