Buhari's victory a boost to opposition politics: Umeh

Awka - Chief Victor Umeh, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has congratulated President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on his victory and described the development as a major boost for opposition politics in the country, Vanguard reports.

In addition, Umeh also commended President Goodluck Jonathan on conceding defeat, saying the move was a show of "statesmanlike attributes".

While sending his well-wishes to Buhari, Umeh encouraged him to adopt and implement resolutions made at the National Conference and work for the good of all citizens.

Meanwhile, Anambra State Progressive People's Alliance (PPA) leader Godwin Ezeemo has described the peace exhibited by Buhari and Jonathan as progress on the part of democracy in the country.

According to Ezeemo, officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and President Goodluck Jonathan have proved to the world that black men are more than capable to handle their affairs in a decent manner.
