Abuja - With calls for the postponement of the February general elections gathering momentum, there is the possibility that the issue might be discussed at Thursday’s meeting of the Council of State, reports Punch.
In taking any decision on the elections, the council would review the preparations for the elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the relevant security agencies. Also read: 68.8m PVCs ready for collection –INEC
President Jonathan during the meeting is expected to impress it on other council members to support the shift in the elections.
To underscore the importance Jonathan attaches to the meeting, he has put on hold his re-election campaign rally earlier billed to hold on Thursday in Yenagoa, the capital of his home state, Bayelsa.
