Court restrains NCC on APC’s fund-raising platform

2015-01-29 19:10
Lagos - A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and five telecoms firms  not to enforce the ban on the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign fund-raising platform, reports The Nation.

The court in its ruling restrained Etisalat,  MTN, Glo, Airtel and Visafone from giving effect to a directive by the NCC which warned them against running political promotions that would portray them as being partisan.

The court presided over by Justice Ibrahim Buba ordered that the telecom firms should continue to run, operate and/or restore to its full operative use the SMS Code platform 35350 created for fund-raising.
