Lagos - A Federal High Court has fixed a date to rule on the application by the 19 Ekiti State All Progressives Congress lawmakers to discontinue their case against Governor Ayodele Fayose and 13 others.

The action was instituted to challenge the impeachment of Adewale Omirin and Adetunji Orisalade as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.

Fayose argued that the two had no claim to him being impeached as they were themselves currently challenging their impeachment in court.

If the suit against Fayose was dismissed rather than struck out by the court, it would mean that it could no longer be filed or re-represented in court at a future time.
