The senatorial election held in the area on March 28 but were declared inconclusive due to electoral manipulations, violence, snatching of ballot boxes, and the withholding of INEC result sheets.

Udughan meanwhile urged voters to cast their ballots in favour of party candidate, Chief Ighoyota Amori.

He attributed the PDP victory at the gubernatorial and other senatorial election in the state to the unity among the various ethnic groups in the region.
