Abuja - The European Union (EU) has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against suppressing a viable opposition in the country, reports The Sun.
The Union said the presence of a strong opposition would be in APC’s best interest.

Speaking during a media luncheon in Abuja on Wednesday, the Head of EU delegation to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Michel Arrion, said if if there is no strong opposition outside the APC, the party may suffer the same fate as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by having an internal opposition.
On the gale of defections following the outcome of the general elections, Arrion called for a legal framework that can guard against indiscriminate defection in the country.
