Abuja - The European Union Election Observation Mission has called on the Nigeria Police Force to provide a secure environment for the success of the forthcoming general elections.
A statement issued by the Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Thursday said Mr Santiago Fisas, the EU Chief Observer, made the call when he visited the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
The statement said Fisas commended the force for the high level of professionalism of its personnel.

It said that the I-G promised that the police would use the six-week period of the shifting of the election to advance strategies and material requirement for the exercise.
The I-G reassured that the force would provide the enabling environment for the success of the election.
