Ekiti APC asks residents to defy curfew

2015-04-01 14:15

Ekiti - The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has asked residents of the state to defy the curfew imposed by the governor, Ayodele Fayose and celebrate the victory of APC presidential candidate at the polls, Punch reports.

The party also asked the 19 APC lawmakers in the state to return and commence sitting, saying the end of impunity has come with the victory of Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The APC described the curfew as “sheer wickedness on the part of Governor Fayose to want to prevent” the people from celebrating and described the curfew as wicked.

Fayose in a statewide broadcast from Ado Ekiti, the state capital imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the state.

The governor reportedly stated that the curfew, which would be in effect from 7.30pm and 6.00am, was necessary in order to prevent violence as a result of the recently announced Presidential election results.
