Lagos - Motorists driving on usually busy Lagos roads enjoyed an unprecedented smooth and traffic-free ride on Friday, a day to the 2015 presidential election.

News24 Nigeria can report that a usually busy Third Mainland Bridge was very free as motorists drive at convenient speed, and arrive at their destinations on time.

Major Lagos roads experience hectic traffic, especially on Fridays, as workers rush home after closing the day’s business.

The reason for the thorough fare may be attributed to rumours of restriction of movement in Lagos from 5pm on Friday.

But the Lagos state Police Command says restriction of movement will begin from 6am and end at 6pm on Saturday.

Nigerians take to the poll on Saturday March 28, to decide who their next president would be.
