Bauchi - Those recently elected should see the mandate a challenge and should reciprocate by distributing the dividends of democracy to the electorate.

Prof. Hamman Tukur, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi State, gave this charge during the presentation of certificates of return to the Governor, Deputy Governor, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives in Bauchi on Friday.

"Those elected should see the mandate as a huge challenge and should reciprocate by ensuring that the dividends of democracy are distributed among all parts of the state.”

He also said that the winners should understand that it was a silent revolution happening in the country and if they refused to serve their people it could affect them too.

According to him, elected persons should be careful in the way they handled those who elected them.
