Nnamani, who is also the candidate of the People for Democratic Change in the Enugu East senatorial election has challenged the result which was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Chairman of the PDC, Sunday Ani, said also that the election was characterised by widespread irregularities.

He added that the declaration of the results provoked mass protests in Enugu as many were shocked that Nnamani wasn't declared the winner.

Ani added that they had received many messages and phone calls from disgruntled voters.
