Falana faults Jonathan’s May 28 handover date

Lagos - Fiery Lagos lawyer, Femi Falana has criticized the decision of President Goodluck Jonathan to formally handover to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari on May 28, reports Daily Post.

He noted that the May 28 handover date being proposed by President Jonathan will create a power vacuum for a few hours before Buhari is formally sworn-in as the President on May 29.

He stated that the new date was a deviation from the law and norm.

He noted that the tenure of President Jonathan ends on May 29 and cannot be cut short  in the name of handing over the day before.
