Lagos - Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has vowed not to collect his Permanent Voters Card (PVC) until all residents of the state who registered collect theirs, report Tribune.
The governor, who spoke shortly after receiving theIndependent National Electoral Commissioner in Lagos, Akin Orebiyi in his office, said he won’t go ahead of the people to collect his PVC.
He likened himself to a captain of a ship, saying a captain does not leave a ship when there is crisis.Also read: Collection of voters card postponed in Lagos
He noted that as a captain, he must make sure all the passengers are safely evacuated.
He urged residents who have not collected their cards to proceed to their polling units from Wednesday 8.30a.m to 5.30p.m everyday till Sunday.
