Lagos - Lagos state governor Babatunde Raji Fashola has expressed optimism he will be succeeded by APC’s governorship candidate Akinwumi Ambode.

Ambode faces fierce contest from PDP’s Jimi Agbaje in the 2015 gubernatorial election of April 11.

Fashola, alongside his wife Abimbola, cast their votes at Unit 002 Ward 3 inside the State Grammar School in Surulere Lagos at about 2:40pm

After partaking in the process, Fashola told journalists that he has no fears about the outcome of the governorship election in the state, as he believe Ambode will succeed him.

“I’m always optimistic in a contest. I have voted and I am very optimistic,” Fashola said.

APC’s Muhammadu Buhari was declared president-elect in the March 28 presidential poll.
