Abuja - Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, believes security and the economy are the major issues that will determine the choice of electorates in the forthcoming general elections.

He stated this during the official launch of the 015 Agric Value Chains Empowerment programme at the Johnson Agiri Agricultural Complex, Oko Oba Agege.

The governor said the difference between the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in terms of security came to the fore in the state last Monday.

It is alleged some people who were supposedly carrying out a rally in support of the President Goodluck Jonathan and their People's Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos were brandishing knives, cudgels, and dangerous weapons harassing innocent citizens.

He said the PDP rally on Lagos roads, when placed side-by-side with the solidarity march his All Progressives Congress organized recently showed the difference between the two parties because during the APC rally, there were no reports of violence and harassment of citizens.

Fashola apologized to residents of the state for the pain and trauma arising from the violent incidents at the PDP rally.

“I am sorry about the pain and trauma they put you through."

He reiterated that the work of a government is to protect its citizens and not to terrorize them.
