Fayose, APC lawmakers biker over pay

Ado Ekiti - Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers are currently at loggerheads over payment of the lawmakers salaries and entitlements, reports National Mirror.

While Gov. Fayose said he has paid the lawmakers their outstanding salaries and allowances, the lawmakers are insisting that the are yet to receive any payment.

Fayose in a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo claimed that the lawmakers duly acknowledged receipt of cheques for their payments.

He stated that payments were made in cheques because the lawmakers pleaded that their accounts should not be credited directly to avoid the banks deducting the loans they taken.

The lawmakers, however, said they were shocked at media report that they had been paid.
