Lagos - Ghana president, John Mahama has lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat in the presidential elections in a peaceful manner, saying he showed great maturity.

Mahama stated that Jonathan had, through his actions earned the respect of all Nigerians and the international community.
He added that the Economic Community of West African States, which he chairs, were expecting a smooth transition from Jonathan to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.
He further added that Nigeria is an important member of the sub region and he expected it to continue playing a prominent role in the future.
