Lagos-Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Simeon Sule, has hit back to say that he is not a religious imposter as it has been speculated, reports Tribune.

Posters of Simeon have been put up around the state, portraying the candidate with a turban, which reports argue that it depicts Sule as a Muslim other than a Christian, which the senator claims to be.

Speaking at saint Barnabas Church, the current senator, Sule, has come out to say to the rest of the country that he is a Christian, and that he would not change for political reasons.

The governorship candidate, with a Muslim father, argues that though his father was the Chief Imam of his village, and named him Sule, which derives from Islam, he stands as a Christian and refuses to compromise his faith.
