Lagos - The PDP governorship candidate for Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje, on Friday called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to resolve Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) issues in the state before February's general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the elections are scheduled to begin on Feb. 14.

Addressing supporters and members of the party at a rally in Alimosho council area, Agbaje urged the commission to ensure that all eligible voters would vote.

"There must be a mechanism that will ensure that no one is disenfranchised,’’ he said.

The candidate also urged INEC to ensure elimination of electoral fraud to achieve free, fair and credible elections.

He appealed to Lagos residents to vote for him, pledging that he would improve infrastructure and make life more meaningful to the residents, if elected.

Agbaje noted that Alimosho was the most populous council area in Lagos State, and promised to improve road network and provide potable water and other basic amenities in the area.

He urged the state residents to come out en masse to vote.

"Your vote is your power; use it to bring an administration that will meet your needs.

"I am sure INEC will come up with a decision that will allow all eligible and willing voters to cast their votes,’’ he said.
