Jalingo - Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs on Saturday attacked the Acting Governor of Taraba State, Sani Danladi Abubakar during a campaign rally in Karim Lamido local government area of the state, reports Leadership
The thugs, who stormed the campaign rally organised by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to sell the party’s governorship candidate, Darius Ishaku caused pandemonium and dispersed party supporters from the venue.
Abubakar, who was speaking when the thugs struck, was dragged down from the podium.Also read: Thugs confess they were hired to stone Buhari
Trouble started when the policemen attached to the acting governor fired tear gas to disperse the thugs who were chanting “no to PDP, no to PDP.
Some aggrieved PDP members in the state have been accused of being behind the attack.
