Port Harcourt - Hoodlums, suspected to be political thugs, have snatched over 14 000 Permanent Voters’ Cards in Rivers State, reports The Sun.
The PVCs were forcefully snatched from officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in different parts of the state.
Gesila Khan, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State, said the cards were stolen from local government collection centres, where the PVCs were deposited to enable the rightful owners have free access to them.Also read: APC members sell their PVC's to the PDP in Ekiti
She, however, noted that the cards could not be used except if they were in the possession of their rightful owners.
