Port Harcourt - Former Director-General of Department of Security Service (DSS), Chief Albert Horsfall, on Tuesday congratulated President-elect Muhammadu Buhari and urged him to fight corruption in the country.

In a statement in Port Harcourt, Rivers, he said he was convinced that under Buhari’s leadership, corruption, impunity and dishonesty would be eradicated from the nation’s polity.

Horsfall said that Buhari’s victory showed that Nigerians voted convincingly to effect the change the country had been yearning for.

Horsfall, who is also former chairman of defunct Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC), said Buhari’s leadership would move the nation forward.

"I believe that his leadership will finally stamp out the cankerworm of corruption, impunity and dishonesty from our polity as a nation and Nigeria will move forward to the development that we all yearn for," he said.
