Abuja - The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has made an impassioned plea to Suleiman Abba, Inspector General of Police, to intervene in the harassment of its members in certain parts of the state, PUNCH reports.

Isaac Kekemeke, Chairman of the Ondo APC, has sent a petition to the I-G alleging that members of the Armed Forces and the police have been working with a private security company owned by an ex-militant in order to molest and assault members of the APC within the state.

The suspect in question, popularly known as General Shoot at Sight, is a known PDP leader in the state and is said to be harassing the APC members by imposing an unfair curfew.

According to Kekemeke, particular APC members have been forced to discontinue their journeys home and have been forced to sleep in boats after a curfew was enforced which disallowed travel after 6 pm.

Kekemeke, however, has revealed that PDP members have free access to the waterways in question, despite what time of day or night it is.

He has revealed that the law does not permit private security companies to impose curfews, saying that the I-G should put a stop to the harassment, which he has described as "the embarrassing situation".
