There were reports on Tuesday afternoon that Jega’s security has been withdrawn following an unfortunate drama at the result collation center in Abuja.

A representative of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Collation Centre, Godsday Orubebe disrupted proceedings, accusing the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attaihiru Jega of bias in favour of the All Progressives Congress APC.

He lamented that while Jega set up a committee to investigate the protest letter of APC on Rivers election, he rejected the letter of PDP on Kano, Jigawa, Katsina and Kaduna.

Following the shameful incident, reports went viral that Jega's security detail has been withdrawn, but INEC, via its official twitter account denied the report on Tuesday.

"Contrary to reports, Prof. Jega's security has not been withdrawn."
