INEC distributes 2.5m PVCs in Katsina

Katsina - The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said it had distributed 2,569,453 Permanent Voter Cards (PVC’s) to eligible voters in Katsina State.

Alhaji Rabiu Usman, INEC's Head of Public Relations in the state, said in Katsina that the figure represented 95 per cent of total registered voters.

He said that Katsina state had a total of 2,840,654 registered voters, adding that, of the number only 2,755,674 PVC’s were issued to the state from INEC headquarters.

Usman, however, said there were 186, 221 PVC’s waiting for collection at local government collection centres across the state.

He said the commission was planning a stakeholders’ forum where issues associated with the Smart Card Readers and PVCs would be discussed.
