Abuja - A senatorial candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has refused to sign a peace accord alongside members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) at the police command, Naij reports.
Alhaji Ubale Shitu, former deputy governor in the state, explained the move as necessary due to security reasons and said that he has excluded himself as a matter of personal preference.

While Shitu was the only member from the opposition who was present at the signing ceremony, several PDP candidates signed the agreement. These include Alhaji Abdulmumini Zareku, Senator Danladi Sankara and Alhaji Adamu Sarawa.
Although Alhaji Muhammad Tilli, State Commissioner of Police, attempted to persuade Shitu into signing the, his decision was made final, causing all attempts to fail.
